Existing Java webapp needs help with Apache Shiro integration

I need the correct implementation of Apache Shiro in my web application. Currently Shiro works with users/passwords that I have setup in [login to view URL] but it will not work with my user store MySQL database. As a bonus if you could write a class that overrides Shiro's login interception that would be a great help for to learn how this works. If you have experience in this area I would be interested in an hour or two of your time. Skills Required: Apache Shiro (not in the list of tags)
