- Need to discuss the project before acceptance... This project is a Electrical-software design type project. You must know feedback control systems to do it. Experience programming DSP's is a must in C language. Digitla Electronics design is also a must to do this project and understanding of interface of ADC, DAC and DSP's. I have a servo amplifier which drives a servo motor, I need to replace the analog PID controller section of the electronics with DSP. The servo is basically a close loop system. Two sections of the current design will be kept, a) the Feedback interface and the plant. The rest will be replaced by the DSP Controller. You need to have good understanding of PID Controllers to do this project. More details can be provided as needed.

I started design analog PID system twenty five years ago, after that multiple design done and used in industries. Whether you need DSP or not for control depends on how fast your system need to make correction, do you need auto tuning etc. I have the tools and experience, would like to hear from you.

Hello, How are you? I'm Electronic Engineer and I can help you with this project, I'm very interested because I have developed PID controllers before I made a Magnetic levitator which uses a PID and is an extremely unstable system because it is governed by inverse square law, in that case used a PIC 18F4550 but it can be implemented in a DSP too I've got the source code of course. I propose to design your digital controller around a microchip dsPIC 16 bit DSP which includes an integrated ADC to simplify the design and reduce parts count. I can easily program a PID controller in the mikroC programming language to run on the DSP and provide optimum control of the servo. I'm assuming that you are intending to convert the the digital output from the DSP back into the analog domain with a DAC to maintain compatibility with the rest of your existing design. This can be accomplished using a DAC chip which I would choose based on the specific requirements of your application but it would most likely be a 12 bit chip operated over SPI.
