Your group is to design a WWV time receiver which will receive the 60 kHz Wwv transmission and lock on the time. It will check the time every two hours (doesn't matter if it checks with small time interval) and then give an audible beep and visual indication( in text) that it has received the correct time. The time will be shown and then show how far off it was in the last two hours.

Hi, Could you tell me some more details please. Do you want to do it into a computer or do you need an electronics to do the job ? The display is by a computer or the electronics need to have some LCD ? Please let me know the source signal voltage level. Still now I haven't worked with this kind of signal, just decoding of ID on taxi caller, but once I get all details I can provide you from schematic through pcb, protos to the final product. All the best ! Zoltan

I have many years of wireless experience including radio-related applications. I also have seventeen years of microcontroller experience and can easily design a circuit to calculate the time discrepancy and display it on whatever display you choose. What I will do is use a MCU with a real-time clock peripheral to keep track of "local" time, and then at the specified (two-hour) interval receive the official time from the WWV station. I can then display the time error on an LCD screen or something similar (or it can be output via a serial port or USB connection to a terminal). If there's anything I'm missing or misunderstanding, please contact me at any time. I very much hope to work with you on this project. Best regards, -- Chris Bethea

It is possible to use already made modules? What you mean for "The time will be shown and then show how far off it was in the last two hours." ? Do you need a prototype or just schematics, pcb and software? Are the dimensions important? Thank you.
