Access data from two related SQL Server tables

I am certificated .NET/C# programmer working .NET 12 years. Your task may be solved if: 1) if both servers are installed on the same network, 2) Distributed Transaction Service (DTS) is installed and covers both SQL servers. I'll build you WPF application demonstrating all mentioned actions if your network satisfies mentioned conditions. If you want WEB application, I'll build ASP.NET MVC application. It is important to know, that having now full powered DTS (Windows Server WEB Edition, for example) the task may be solved in one case only: both SQL servers and client application are located on the same computer. Building WEB application is mandatory in this case, IIS and both SQL servers must be installed on the same computer.

Hello, I will do this in Visual Basic using Visual Studio 2013. Firstly I would do 2 async processes to connect to those sql servers. If error, handle it, and give user possibility to change sql connection settings.(server, database, user, pass). Working asynchronously is better if you want to minimize the delay time, i'm using it for my sms marketing software. Once connected create a hidden dataset. Fill dataset with data from db1. Match dataset entries to db2 and update datagridview. Data grid view can be edited. If edit occurred check if its in db1 or db2. Update db1/db2 in real time or by clicking Apply(your choice) based on the user edit. The program's interface will contain a date/time filter to hide records.
