ETF CLASSIFICATION PROJECT

REQUIREMENT DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF THE FINANCIAL MARKETS AND THE ASSOCIATED TERMS WITHIN. DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO STANDARDIZE TERMS WITHIN A DOCUMENT OR CATEGORY BACKGROUND We have a list of 1,244 ETF's and ETN's (Exchange Traded Funds or Exchange Traded Notes) ticker symbols and their names; sorted by ticker symbol ascending order. OBJECTIVE We would like to classify them such that they are standardized by TYPE SUBTYPE SUBSUBTYPE A file called "ETFs_sectind" has been attached and many examples have been completed already to illustrate the OBJECTIVE. Look down the column to find those completed records. The Column Names in the supplied file are: "Symbol", "Name", "Type","Sub-Type", "Sub-Sub-Type" PROJECT DETAILS: We provide the ticker Symbol and the Name, you'll fill in the TYPE, SUBTYPE, and SUBSUBTYPE (if one exists). Many times the information is found in the name and others you may have to research individual ticker symbols on other financial sites to get a better description: such as the Profile page on Yahoo (as an example) where the "Category" and/or the "Fund Summary" (lower right of the Profile page) may also provide information that can assist. - ALWAYS USE THE SAME TYPE OF WORD/PHRASE and "spelled out" is REQUIRED: For example: use "SHORT TERM", not "S-T", not "Shortterm", not "S-Term", etc. - Always be consistent in your use of standardized names. - Always use CAPS - DO NOT USE ANY OTHER PUNCTUATION. - If you have any questions as to phraseology or naming conventions you may contact me directly via email (I'll supply after awarding project). DEFINITIONS: TYPE = what are they trying to mimic (usually what are they investing in)? Index, equities, bond, commodity, etc.. SUBTYPE = the immediate descriptor to the TYPE ie..- type =COMMODITY, subtype =WATER It can also mean geographic area and other things. SUBSUBTYPE = is usually yet another descriptor. One may not always be available. Our analyst was able to complete 36 of these in about 8 minutes (4 records/minute). Therefore, we expect this job to take no longer than 4 hours for the Freelancer that is knowledgeable of the Financial Markets.
