Note, the instructions here are based upon another job whose details are below these: Using the same interface and the same programming required for the first GPA calculator, a this application to calculate a student’s Program GPA (cumulative). This project is to enable a student to look at how they have done in their program (the degree or diploma program that they are registered to graduate from – like Software Engineering or something like that). We want one more column is to be added to the LEFT side of the application. Title this one ‘Semester’. This will have in each of the cells below it, a drop down combo box where the user can choose 1 or 2 or 3 or 4. These will represent the first semesters courses or second or third or forth. No calculation will be done from this column as it will only be used by the students to organize their calculation and for printing. We want the calculator to start with 7 rows like what you have, but to have a button that is actually an additional row across the application that has the text “Add Row’ centered below the calculation text you have in the center row area. When students click on the Add Row, row, they would get a new row added to the calculator where they can continue to add course details. At its maximum I would expect a student to be able to add up to 40 rows (unlimited number…) in total and have the GPA continue to be calculated from each input to the calculator. The GPA that will be a result of this tool will be called the Program GPA (instead of Semester GPA as in previous calculator). Change the color to a blue gray color combo. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ We want a Grade Point Average calculator to be created in Flash. The functionality is described in the attached Excel file. Students would input their letter grade; these would be converted to a numeric value (points). Students would input in their credit hours (number of hours they are in class per week) Students would input in their course name. The calculator would multiply the converted grade value by the credit hours value and result in grade points. The calculator would add up the credit hours and provide a total. The calculator would add together the grade points column results to provide the GPA on a 4.0 scale. Nothing needs to be saved from the tool, it is a once-use tool with no database. The method that students will use to save their calculations will be to click a PRINT button and print their results (capturing all the typed in data and calculation results). We want the interface to be a gray-blue-green and rounded edge rather than a square 'traditional' calculator look. This tool will be launchable from a website. Students will be walked through the process of entering their semester schooling marks by teachers and able to generate their current grade point average. Mouse over simple instruction is needed for the key areas as example in the Excel file. We want the fla files as well as the swf file as there are many changes made to the grading system values and will need to be able to make slight changes to the calculated values at any time.
