Javascript GUI improvements
We use a Javascript based GUI as front end for our C application. The software is distributed under GPL so there is nothing preventing you from inspecting the source code before you make your decision.
You are a Javascript Expert and you are Very comfortable with:
- Javascript (Not Java)
- PrototypeJS framework ([login to view URL])
- Ajax
- CSS
- XHTML
The work:
1) Mimetype support in file browser:
There are two Javascript file browsers (similar to Windows Explorer, but in a web browser) in the GUI. Currently every file has the same standard icon. Your work is to implement support for different icons for different file types.
The icons to be used are included in David Vignoni's Nuvola package, found here (size 16x16):
[login to view URL] (see /16x16/mimetypes/ in the package).
2) File sizes and file dates
In the Javascript web browsers, the files view should display modified date and file size. The data (time & size) is requested via Ajax calls.
The original code:
If you are interested, install the latest version, found here: [login to view URL] Then have a look at the JS files here: C:Program FilesWitsbitsWebAdminjs
Delivery:
We want all work delivered as patch/diff files, so we can inspect and approve it before we apply it to the main trunk.
Please observe, we are developers, we will inspect the delivery, we will discard any non-professional or undocumented code.
Delivered Javascript code must run flawless on (at least):
- Internet Explorer 6
- Internet Explorer 7
- Firefox 2
- Opera 9
