Android Set-Top Box launcher application

The goal of this project is to create a launcher application for Android 4.0 STB device. You need to develop the OpenGL ES 2.0 part of the UI interaction for the application. The launcher needs to be developed and will run on the following device: [login to view URL] The device is connected to a TV set via HDMI cable and the viewer has remote control to navigate the app which will be consisted of several screens (Home, Live Channels/TV, VoD section, Settings, Channel details, VoD Details, Video player and etc…). The application will communicate with server side API and will retrieve assets necessary for normal operation including video URL's from CDN, channel lists, VoD title details and etc.... We will provide PSD files for the design and the job is to animate the UI elements and code the launcher app. The video player part of the launcher will stream HLS video and we will provide necessary explanation how to do this, so video streaming knowledge is not required. The whole UI/UX structure is created and we will provide PSD for it. All effects, desired motion, and the rest level of details will be explained additionally. You also need to include automatic updating mechanism so the application can update itself whenever there is newer version of it. You job will be basically to create all the user interface and elements needed to navigate the app intuitively and easily. Currently the device runs on modified Android 4.0.3 OS, and supports OpenGL ES 2.0 API at 1080p resolution. The GPU is Mali-400MP and has ARM Cortex9 CPU. In addition, we will need help in the automatic OS update mechanism and we want to establish our own update process from our servers. The normal usage flow is that the viewer uses up, down, left, right keys to navigate the menu items and clicks OK for selection. Upon selection, screens change and the user navigates to the various sections of the app. We just need an expert to create the menu animations in OpenGL ES 2.0 with the Mali SDK for Android. Live channels will be streamed over Level3 CDN and VoD from Amazon CloudFront. Image assets will be hosted on S3.
