# 13: The Card Game

I want to create a strategy based card game called 13.

You start out with 16 random cards in a 4 x 4 format all facing up. Players can add up any number of cards to equal 13.

Aces are counted as 1

Once the player selects the cards that will equal 13, those cards are placed to the side face down as not to shown which cards have been [url removed, login to view] player can then either choose to add new cards to the empty spaces left by the discarded cards or opt to wait for a better time to fill the spaces, which can be at anytime during the game or when there are no more cards on the board but more cards in the deck still.

To get rid of face cards like the jack, queen or king, all four cards must be on the board at the same time.

If players match the two jokers before all Aces are used, the player can use the cards to get rid of all four face cards even if they are not all on the board. Then the Jokers get reshuffled in the remaining of the deck. Can be used only twice in a game. Besides from matching the jokers together, you can use one joker to return a random card from the discarded deck. If a joker is used this way, it is sent to the discarded deck and not reshuffled back into the deck. This technique can be used twice.

A joker can also be used to return another joker only if the jokers will then immediately be used to discard four face cards to the discarded deck. If the jokers are used this way, they will remain in the discarded deck and not be reshuffled back into the deck. If multiple decks are used this limit increases to two.

You win the game if you can figure out how to get rid of every card by making matches of 13.

You lose if you cannot add cards up to equal 13 but still have cards remaining.

For scoring:

Ace = 10

2 = 20

3 = 30

4 = 40

5 = 50

6 = 60

7 = 70

8 = 80

9 = 90

10 = 100

Jacks = 120

Queens = 160

Kings = 200

Jokers = 250

Jokers = 300 + Jack, Queen, or King if used to clear four of selected face cards

Joker = 125 + random card value if used to get random card from discarded deck

Players lose 10 points for every empty space that is not filled within three turns

Players lose 20 points for every face card on the board after turn four

Players lose 50 points for every turn one Joker is on the board,

Players lose 5 points if two jokers are on the board at the same time and not used that turn.

Players lose 140 Points if a jokers was used to return another joker

Players lose the game if their points equal - 500 at anytime

Points are added and/or subtracted each turn.

Players can stack up to four decks for a total of 110 card. 52 * 4 + 2 Jokers.

For every deck you stack on the initial 54 card deck will allow the jokers to be reshuffled back into the deck two extra times for a total of 10 times a game at maximum card limit.

I want to eventually add multi-player to the game where you can play others online or against an A.I.

Multi-player will just take turns adding cards up to 13, if you cannot add cards to equal 13 on your turn, you lose the game.

In one turn, a player can add one set of cards up to 13, decide whether to add cards to empty spaces or not if applicable, use jokers to perform special task, or end turn.

I want to have three difficulty modes: Normal, Hard, Unbeatable.

Game mode unbeatable: all four decks are used. No jokers. the cards randomly change each turn. Cards that get used are put in the graveyard of the deck it came from so the player can see how many cards of each deck has been used. On any turn, if the player cant add cards up to equal 13, the player loses.

Also adding cards up to enter 13 in quick secessions creates a chain reaction that doubles, triples, and times 13 the points on any mode. Too slow and the player losses points equal to the value of the cards used to equal 13.

Regular Points Time = 3 sec pass between sets of 13

Double Points Time = 3 sec and 3 sets of 13

Triple Points Time = 5 sec and 5 sets of 13

X13 Points Time = 13 sets of 13 in 13 seconds

Slow time = 3 sec no sets

When you land triple you also get points for a regular and double.
Get X13, you get points for triple, double, and regular twice, and plus X13 the total value points of the cards

The player can press hint and be shown which sets of cards to use to equal 13 that will not cause the player to lose next turn and what empty spaces to leave empty and which to fill if applicable. It does this by predicting what cards MAY come next depending on the cards already used but it is not perfect and not always correct and the opposite can happen. Use the hint feature at your own risk or fortune.

If less than 16 cards per deck are in the graveyard, then players cant use the hint feature. It cost the player 75 points to use and can be use an unlimited number of times.

The player can use the stop time button to stop the clock for 13 seconds to rack up on points. This cost the player 50000 points however.

Can only be used Once.

The game shows the player the board for 3 sec before each turn so players can form a quick strategy. The game will say or display: Here are your cards for the next turn. Form your strategy. Three Two One Go!
