The general aim of this application is to solve diverse problems relating to school management in the defined module areas of the application. The modules of the application include the following: 1. Database Management Module; comprising of (a) Student database (b) Staff database. This module forms the bedrock of the application 2. Library Management Module 3. Payroll Management Module 4. Attendance Management; comprising of (a) Student Attendance (b) Staff Attendance 5. Billing and fee management Module 6. Academic and Report Card Printing Module 7. Academic Transcript Processing Module 8. Administrative and Utility Module 9. Mail merge and Report Writer Module ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 4.A complete documentation of a printable "user guide" and manual (of PDF file format) embedded in the application. This guide should among other things explain (a) the functionalities of all the different modules of the application. (b) all the logic involved in the operations of all the different sections of all the modules of the application. (c) all the technical requirements involved in using the application for maximum efficiency. (d) the sequence of flow of all the program elements such as tables, reports, queries etc (e) the relationships between all the elements of the application; for example, the Tables from which a particular report was derived. (f) 5. At installation, the application should require the use of "Lincense Type Name" and a Fourteen (14) digit combination of alpha numeric characters to unlock the application; making it ready to use. Five categories of "License TYpe Names" described as follows will be required: i. SHORT DEMO - This license is intended to give access to all modules of the application for a maximum of 24 Hours after which the application should cease from functioning on the users' system until full license is obtained. ii. LONG DEMO - This license is intended to give access to all modules of the application for a maximum of 5- days after which the application should cease from functioning on the users' system until full license is obtained. iii. BRONZE LICENSE: This license is intended to give UNLIMITED access to THE DATABASE MODULE, THE ADMIN./UTILITY modules, FEE PROCESSING AND sCHOOL FINANCE MANAGEMENT MODULE, PAYROLL MODULE AND TIME TABLE MODULE of the application. iv. SILVER LICENSE: This license is intended to give UNLIMITED access to THE DATABASE MODULE, THE ADMIN./UTILITY modules, ACADEMIC/ RESULT/TRANSCRIPT MODULE, LIBRARY MODULE, ATTENDANCE MODULE AND MAIL MERGE / REPORT WRITER MODULE of the application. v. GOLDEN LICENSE: This license is intended to give UNLIMITED access to ALL THE MODULES OF THE APPLICATION. 6. The application shoud be able to support Multiple concurrent users on its databases. It should be suitable for both network and stand alone environments. 7. Each module should contain an internal Help System that will explain to the user step by step how to perform each task in the program; relating to all elements fo the program such as tables, modules, reports etc. This help system can be in the form of Application Wizard for each module; which could successfully guide users to perform any task as within the scope of the application by following predefined set of instructions programmed in the application; eg payroll wizard, attendance wizard, mail merge wizard, report writing wizard, library setup wizard, timetable wizard, billing wizard, transcript builder wizard, setting up new student, new class, new term, new year etc. By following the tutorials, users should be able to learn how to have the program do what he/she wants. This wizard can be located under the help menu and all stated steps should be printable under standard printing conditions. Help should also be provided under context sensitive help system. 8. 8. Default information should be programmed to minimize user input requirements. 9. Users should be able to install one or all of the modules of the application simultaneously or at different periods; all the modules should integrate with each other. For example, as soon as data have been entered into the database module, the data should appear in all other modules of the application: thus, only data sps cific to a particular module needs re- entered. 10. It should also be possible to install any other module of the application independent of the database module. 11. The database capacity should be able to hold as many records as possible. 12. The application should be upgrade ready such that as requirements change, the application can ba upgraded without problems; and new modules could be added to existing ones as upgrades. 13. Special requirements: (a) The application should have highly user friendly screens enriched with graphics. (b) The database field names should be customizable by the user. User should be able to change the properties of table field names especially in the database and library modules. (c) The application should have the ability to perform arithmetic and mathematical operations on numeric field types and including them in reports to form new report columns; eg (score in mathematics + score in biology)/2 = average score. etc Note: specific module requirements will be attached as soon as possible. ## Platform The application should be developed to work on Windows 98 and above operating systems; such as windows xp, me, etc The application should be developed using a framework that provides Platform Independent Development (.NET) and Oracle Dbase. Note: useful comments are welcome from coders.
