I have a website that publishes press releases (articles). The current CMS is developed in PHP and it seems that the mysql table that stores the information for the articles is getting way too big. I believe there are over 280K records. Because of this the performance of the site is extremely slow. And often times there are mysql processes that get locked and therefore crashing the mysql server.
What I need is for someone to create another table in the database that will start fresh with the storing of new articles. The current releases are published on the site in the form of [login to view URL] where "12345" is the specific number of the release. So the new table needs to continue publishing the articles using that format.
Basically everything needs to be working as is on the site but the only difference is that the new articles are using a new table for increased performance. I believe the job be relatively easy since we're really just creating a new table and making sure the articles get published as normal.
There is also one other small issue that arises sometimes when a website user attempts to publish a press release. It seems some words when entered in the press release submission trigger an error with the PHP code. For example, I had a user submit an article that had the words "create extravagant" in the first paragraph which then returned an "Internal server error" page after submitting the form.
This has happened with dozens of users. I believe it has something to do with the version of php the site is using and/or the form submission code. This would need to be fixed as well.
