Hi I'm creating a website which like auction websites will have multiple DIVs picking content from a MySQL dbase every second. Problem is: I'm using meta http-equiv='refresh' to refresh multiple Iframes on the page and it really causes the main page to flicker badly and use high server resources. Is there code for AJAX to silently refresh multiple DIVS every second? Remember it has to be PHP/MYSQL friendly since most code on the web is hard-coded and Javascript only based and thus can't work with dynamic database -based content. I've created an online text RPG in this same fashion, which is a very extreme case of the project you require. All it would require is a server application in PHP to gather the data from the database, and a very small bit of AJAX to perform the refresh. I even have a library! Yay! If you'd like, I can work up an example if you want to send me a sample of what your current situation is.

the iframe contents can be replaced by a javascript function that outputs the response using the XMLHttp object. it needs to be seen what output you want. if there s a sample page to view the current scenario, in iframe ,where it flickers a lot, that would help understand the problem better.
