25047 List/Table re-sorting

I need some scripting that will allow me to drag a drop items on a web page to re-sort them. I need two versions. One version the items will in an unordered list. The second version the items will be in table rows. Once the item is moved it will update a MySQL table with the resulting sort order for all of the items. I would like the script to utilize AJAX so the update will occur immediately without the need to press a button or refresh the page. Any samples that you can provide would be very helpful so I feel comfortable you understand my requirements and I understand your capabilities. Thanks
