Mysql tree structure

I need a COMPLETE snippet for managing hierachical data using PHP and MySQL. The code must support all the basic functions such as create,read,update,delete as well as moving a node and things like that. It must be complete and clean. I need simple and clean code. The code must run very fast. The queries must run very fast. I will use this to handle HUGE hierarchical data, such as categories or posts, etc..
