Need blog and ad rotator set up on website

I transferred my website to a new hosting company/server recently, and have not been able to get the ad rotator program to work. It should, since it was running on a linux server before, which I am pretty sure also used php.
I would like to set up a blog on my website, with the first few words/sentence of each post showing up on a side column of my main website, and the rest of the blog on a second page, and archived. Right now, my website features articles running down the main column in the center of the page, which are archived by category and posted using Wordpress over php files. This blog would be separate from those articles.
