Hello coders. I need a linux application (c/perl/php/whatever) to read parallel port data bits. Right now I have a device that keeps "1" state on the 5th bit and every 30 seconds or so it gives me a "1" state on the 3rd bit for 30ms. I need a small piece of code that echoes "Hello... " and data bit values every 10ms or so. Ex. Hello 00001000\n Hello 00001000\n Hello 00101000\n Hello 00001000\n Hello 00001000\n Hello 00101000\n or Hello 20\n Hello 16\n Hello 16\n Hello 20\n Hello 16\n I will also need to know if I need to install any libraries ( libieee1284 maybe ) or kernel modules (ppdev ? something else? ) Thanks, Razvan
