This CGI will allow users to change thier logins.
This will be a wrapper around other existing functions we already have in place.
You will provide an interface to allow the user to select a new username and a pull down with a list of domains that we currently own (we will provide you the list of domains for the pull down of course).
The CGI will check for existing usernames in a specific domain ( we have several domains hosted at the same servers ). We will provide a code sample for performing this check.
The CGI will check that the rate associate with the customer in our billing database allows for a login change. We will provide the table/ fields to check for this. If the can change login's then let them go forward, if not then they should be given a message (we will provide the text) that their account does not allow for username changes.
Once the user has selected a new username your code will check an sql table to see if the user has any dialup usage in the current calendar month. If they have none they will be allowed to proceed to a confirmation page.
If they do have dialup usage during the current calendar month then they will be given two options. We will provide the exact text to display to the user for these two options.
1 - Proceed with the change for a $10 charge which will be posted to their account. We will provide the tables and fields to post these charges too.
2 - Suggest to the user that they can change on the 1st of the next calendar month.
If the user selects option 2 above they will be places into a table of pending changes on our billing server and an update to another notes field on our billing server with text saying there is a pending username change.
A script will need to be created that we will run as a cron that will change do the same thing as an immediate username change. Essentially what happens is we plug data into a table with an action field defining what to do. We will provide details on these fields to the successful bidder.
Any questions please let me know.
