Modify and add calendar to wordpress header

We need to update a header section for a wordpress theme. At the same time we are changing the plugin to handle events/calendar. The existing header has one rotater image/script that spans the full width. We want to keep the rotator. The section needs to be divided into two sections with the calendar going no the right and the rotater spanning the rest. Next the calendar will need to be styled to fit the themed.
