Convert VB 3.0 Client-Server App. to VB 6.0

WHO WE ARE: Our company is Affordable Home Inspections, Inc. We are located in Southern CA. WHAT WE DO: Our business involves the inspection of real estate property such as single-family homes, multi-unit dwellings, and commercial units. PROJECT: The project involves converting our current 16-bit proprietary home inspection software to 32-bit for use on Windows 2000 environment. The software consists of a client application running on pen tablet computers and an office based system which stores all of the DB information and from where the reports are printed. The application was originally written in VB3.0 using Sheridan Datawidgets 1.0 and Sheridan VBAssist 3.1, MS Access 1.1 [for the DB], ProcommPLus 1.02. In the conversion to VB6.0, we would prefer to avoid using 3rd party control sets such as Sheridan. Furthermore, we are looking to upgrade the MS Access and Crystal Reports to current versions. We have the original VB 3.0 sourcecode, applcation manuals, and original design specs. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PDF FILES FOR SOFTWARE DOCUMENTATION,ORIGINAL DESIGN SPECS, AND SPECIFICATIONS WE WISH TO ADD IN THIS CONVERSION. Below is a brief, daily work flow cycle: 1.) Our office staff complete a work order based on information received via telephone call from client or from an order form submitted to our website ([login to view URL] ) and e-mailed to our e-mail address. 2.)The information is entered into our office system's DB and is then distributed to each of the inspectors by creating a file and compressing it(ZIP). 3.)The inspector has a tablet pen computer which he uses to dial-up to the office system. Once connected, he sends the completed inspection work he had done for that day. 4.)He receives back new blank checklist forms and addresses for the properties that he will inspect the next day. 5.)The office computer system (server ) then uploads the data to the DB. 6.)Either automated and manual batch printing may then take place and the reports are printed 7.)The reports are then placed in binders and assembled and mailed out the next business morning. 8.)The inspector travels to the inspection site(s). Performs the inspection by marking off items on the client application report checklist. 9.)At the end of the inspector's workday, he sends his work back to the office computer (item #3 above). ## Deliverables -Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done for BOTH the client and server apps. -Complete copyrights to all work purchased. - User manual detailing use of the software - Built in user-help file. - Installation Disk (s ) using an automated Installation Software such as Installshield or Wise. - Technical E-mail and phone support for technical issues regarding any bugs that may surface.(open to discussion) - Technical Documentation specifying all program’s files, their names, directory location, and function w.r.t. the program. -Copies of all notes/research docs or development planning notes made during the course of development. -We want to have a period after delivery in which bugs can be resolved as they are discovered through daily use of the software.(through phone or e-mail support.) ## Deadline information Call me if you have any questions.
