I have a program in RealBasic that places snipe bids on eBay. It does not work. All of the code is in place. Past coders have assured me it places bids but when I test it, it will not place bids.
It will instead:
incorrectly calculate the time and show the auction as ended several minutes before it actually ends
or
run out the auction time and never bid while also never giving any indication that there was an error or saying why it did not bid
or
say it placed a bid but when I check ebay there was no bid placed
The program was set to use the sandbox but has been switched to the real ebay site. Past programmers assured me it worked in the sandbox but when moved to the real site, it does not place bids correctly.
I need a programmer to patch up the existing code and make it reliably place bids on the live ebay site. I can post auctions for testing if needed. You can also switch the program back to the sandbox for testing until you are ready to test on the live site.
Programmer must be very familiar with RealBasic and the eBay API or willing to learn about the eBay API. Warning: The original programmer who created the program was an idiot. The code is a mess so it may take some extra time to fix. There is so much work in it now that I do not want to start over from scratch. It is very close to working.
Program needs some polishing but for this project I just want to make the bidding work reliably. Final code must be able to place bids on ebay auctions at the correct time, show the correct information, play the correct sound when a bid is placed or not palced, give the correct error message if a bid is not placed or if the user is outbid.
Please confirm that you are experienced with RealBasic and understand the eBay API when submitting your bid.
