Project Description

We are looking for a competent C++ developer with experience on the PocketPC platform for a small project. The successful bidder will have experience in Microsoft Embedded Visual Tools 3.0 and Microsoft ActiveSync 3.1 and be familiar with general bar-coding principals. The deployment platform is the Symbol PocketPC model 2800. The device has an integrated barcode scanner. More details are available at: [url removed, login to view] The SDK for this unit is available at: [url removed, login to view] Note: You will have to create a username/password to access/download the SDK. The scope of the application is pretty simple: 1. When the app is activated, will monitor the scanner and capture scanned barcodes. 2. Will display the data contained in the barcode (which will be a part#, location code, and asset id)on the user interace. 3. The user will be able to enter a value for qty (which defaults to 1). 4. After the value is entered the part#, location code, asset ID, date & time, userid of operator, machineID of scanner, and qty are entered into a comma-delimited text file. 5. User will have option to edit any scanned item, including deleting any scanned item. 6. User has options to start/stop the application. The application will be developed using C++. Speed of operation is key factor and any suggestions for optimizing performance pre-production would be appreciated.
