Hi, We usually take pictures for reference and sculpt them in Zbrush for a high realistic poly model and make the model topology in Maya for rigging and animation. We can make a test or show some work done in Zbrush using Skype or a Record Video of the process to create it if you want.. If possible, please provide snapshots of the left side, right side, back side, and other details that may be needed to complete the 3D model. I've done some work on characters for 1st/3rd person game. If you need textures, provide the image files too. I usually work with 3ds max, but it can be converted to Maya.

I'm using 3ds max and zbrush for modeling. Firstly I'll do high poly modeling and sculpting in T pose character with zbrush. Then make it low poly with topogun and using 3ds max for the uwrap UW maping. Then using xnormal for the baking (make detail normal map with high poly model to low poly model UW map) Finally coloring basic diffuse texture in photoshop or mari. This offer does not include rigging, skinning and animations.
