ERP Technical Evaluation

World Relief is in the process of developing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system. The package is an integrated administrative, financial, accounting, reporting, and business intelligence solution oriented to satisfy the multiple necessities that our organization has in all areas and levels. The software is being built by our team in Nicaragua, with implementation carried out through a team comprised of members of the software design and development team, the implementation team, IT team and finance team. WR plans to add several CRM type modules or functionality to the system for program monitoring and evaluation (M & E) Given that the scope of this project is very large and the timeframe of the systems development has extended longer than the original timeline, WR’s CEO and CIO would like to do a technical analysis of the Systems being developed and get an external objective indication on the seven points below. 1. Design to Meet Organizational Needs: The system has an optimal design and architecture for the scope of the system to provide the backbone for the organization’s core financial management, fund accounting, administration, program metrics, and reporting system for the next 25 years and will be able to readily accommodate appropriate use of cell phone technology and other advances in the technological framework in the coming decades. 2. Design to “Plug-in” External Software and Systems: The systems has an optimal design to “plug-in” or connect to external software, web services, and other external services that the organization is using. 3. Security: The design and programming of the security—both as to the internal access and administration of the system and external threats to the system is robust. 4. Documentation Process for Continuity: The documentation process for continuity to provide explanations of the requirements, the design, the coding, security, and the technical details of the process are adequate. 5. Development Technology, Tools and Programs: The technology, tools, and programs being used to design and build the software system are appropriate for a project of this size and nature. 6. Size, Structure, and Make-up (skillsets) of the Development Team: The structure and make-up of the development team are appropriate for a project of this size and nature. 7. Remaining Modules/Processes and Features on the Calendar for Next Three Years: Review the development calendar for the next three years to determine if, given the amount of programming and implementation resources projected for the system development and implementation through this time frame, that this is realistic. Spanish fluency a plus. Requires 5 working days in Nicaragua and 3 working days in Baltimore, MD US. World Relief to cover travel cost.
