To design a proprietary, web-hosted database and GUI that facilitates improved searching of materials (DOC, PDF, XLS, WPD, etc...) contained within a separately managed public website. 3 stage project (details below). This project is for stage 1 only. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Quite simply - there is a public website that hosts a significant amount of searchable data, but the search functionality on that site is terrible. I want a copy of all available data from that site, but in a format that is easier to search. The site containing the content I want copied is [login to view URL] This will be a three stage project - with each stage generating separate requests for bids. Stage 1 - proof of concept - budget - under $500 USD ------------------------- -at this stage, I am only looking for someone to demonstrate that my objective is achieveable. -Bidder to establish and host web page and associated storage, and to make the same available for 30 day testing window. -Bidder will be responsible for sourcing necessary data storage but must be prepared to transfer authority over storage to me if successful at stage 2. -Whether or not Bidder pursues or is successful at stage 2, Bidder agrees to provide all relevant process and method documentation at the start of the 30 day testing window. Process and method documentation to identify all underlying applications, technologies, software, etc....used in developing the solution, with commentary as to source of incorporated code, process or ideas. -with respect to the solution, process and method, the Bidder agrees that all intellectual property rights associated with the process development, along with any derivative works I or others operating under my direction may develop, belong to me. The bidder waives all future claims against me in this regard Content must be searchable by all (and any combination of) the following parameters: 1. keyword (alone, multiple, +/-, all standard boolean parameters) 2. date on document 3. date posted to [login to view URL] 4. subject (including all subject headings currently available on [login to view URL]) 5. originator (for example, documents appearing on [login to view URL] may be originated by the CRTC, or may be originated by private companies such as Bell Canada) 6. document type 7. CRTC file number Additional critical features include: 1. provide links to associated documents for documents retrieved via search (for example, most documents on [login to view URL] are associated with a CRTC file number - associated documents would be those connected to the same file number) 2. "unzipping" of zip files to permit keyword and date search within zipped files Stage 2 - making it real and permanent - budget - under $2000 USD ----------------------------------------------------------------- If someone can demonstrate that my goal is achievable, I will repost the project with the goal of establishing a permament (but private) site. The posting will include the disclosure of some or all of the process and methods developed by the Stage 1 winner, and Bidders will be invited to improve upon it. Again, all associated intellectual property will vest with me alone. Stage 3 - database management and daily updates - budget to be determined ------------------------------------------------- If we can make this work, the true value will come from keeping it secure, robust and current.
