Native US resident Writer/Researcher

The Writer/Researcher will develop interpretive content, for exhibits labels and possibly in digital media, for a renovation of the Northwest Coast Hall, which is expected to open in 2020. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Research complex topics in anthropology and ethnography, synthesize that research and then present the ideas in clear and engaging ways. Write interpretive text. Collaborate with a large, multidisciplinary team that includes both individuals in the Museum and in Pacific Northwest Coast communities. Editing and proofreading final text. Required Qualifications: Writing experience covering cultural anthropology and indigenous people for a popular audience; 3+ years preferred. Must have published writing samples (for print, online or museums). Excellent communication and organizational skills. Hourly rate is $3/h, so we prefer new freelancers.
