I currently have 20 excel worksheets that record 5 data points on 18 different items for the last 10 years. From there I have 125 different columns of information per day. Some are calculations and some are simply true and false. Then I use pivot tables to create reports.
It has become too burdensome doing this with spreadsheets. I would like to convert the whole thing to a database with heavy emphasis on queries and reports. that is the key. I must be able to get reports easily and in combinations that are preset. Another key part will be being able to automatically update the database.
You must be strong in reports and setting up the queries I want in the way I need them, just like I do with my excel worksheets and pivot tables. I currently have Microsoft Access, but I am not opposed to using SQL light if need be.
There are so many calculations per record or row. Some reference a date. Some reference the previous record or row. Some reference future dates or rows. all of the math is simple math, addition, subtraction, dividing and such.
Speaking English will be a plus since its the only language I know.
