I use Excel to store data in a workbook. I use another workbook, with a macro, to search and extract data from that database. The macro I am using was recorded in Excel using the record macro function, and has been slightly modified since. My problem is, that the macro searches the database for names which are in column A. It then extracts data for that name and then goes on and searches for the next name, etc. What currently happens is that if the macro is searching for the name FRED, it will find FRED, but it will also find and extract rows of data for FREDDY, FREDERICK, FRED THOMAS, etc. Anything that begins with FRED. As I only extract the most recent 6 rows of data, sometimes this can all be wrong or a mixture of right and wrong data. I am looking for someone to modify my macro so it will only find (as in the example) FRED and none of the others. The macro cannot be replaced, as I use several other programs, macros and formulas that all link to this macro, so it has to continue to work with all those. I have attached a text file of the macro that runs within all the other functions and searches and extracts the data. Please advise if you are able to modify macro to ONLY find an exact match to the data (eg FRED and no others), and price for your work.

Hello, could you possibly attach the two documents? I looked at the text of the macro, it seems mostly copy/paste/sort which is to be expected from a record macro event. It's hard to pinpoint the part of the code that needs adjusting without seeing it in action. I'm assuming it should be as simple as adding a conditional statement at the point it conducts the name search. I'll watch for your response. Thanks! Pete.
