Lead Front End Developer

We are looking for a programmer with a keen eye for design to lead the front-end development of our bespoke applications and network of B2B websites. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation teams. You are required to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of web markup, including HTML5, XSL and CSS3 and have experience with projects where implementation of CSS variables has been required. A strong development background in responsive design and experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap is essential. You should also display a keen interest in our technology and where possible recommend improvements, offer up new ideas, and contribute towards the business objectives. Skills & Experience • 4+ years experience in similar roles • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Accomplished in HTML, XSL, CSS, CSS variables and Bootstrap • Proficient understanding of JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery and JS • Good knowledge of image authoring tools, such as Photoshop or Gimp • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensure that our network of sites adhere to them. • You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members Responsibilities • Take ownership in the front-end of our applications and network of sites • Build libraries of layouts & templates for future use • Develop new user-facing features and functionality • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs • Help optimize the application and sites for maximum speed and scalability • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders Payment: Hourly – hours to be agreed Project Length: 1-3 months Project Type: Ongoing project Timing: Immediate Level: Intermediate to Expert Language: English (fluent)
