I am looking for a system whereby articles which are posted to my Joomla 1.0 site are easily, manually tagged according to pre-determined criteria. The articles will be grants for schools, and schools will use the website to search for grants. The grants will have certain conditions attached to them, like they must be for schools in a certain region, or for schools which are funded in a certain way, and they will be only to be spent on certain things, such as for trips, or for books, or for buildings. I would like a streamlined tagging process, so that the tags for the grants are entered in some manner from a list of potential tags, in category order. You are welcome to use the metadata functionality in Joomla for the tags, or if you want to code or suggest an alternative that's fine too. The tags to populate lists should be entered in the module back end by the admins. I want there to be categories also, using the examples above, for example, region and funding and spend criteria - these I would like to be able to add or change from the admin backend. There needs to be a member-usable search for the articles on the tags only, using drop down boxes so only relevant articles are displayed. Searches need to be able to be saved by registered members. Saved searches can be emailed to the member if new articles are posted to the site which match the user's saved search criteria. This should all be manageable by the user, so they can suspend or stop the emails, or delete or modify the searches. There needs to be an email facility, so that registered users can subscribe for emails, to be sent daily or weekly, if articles matching their search criteria are submitted. My Joomla install has community builder, aec, fireboard, and that's it for the time being.
