We want to develop a esp32 based smart device which will be able to pul data from a 3 phase multi functional meter with rs 485 / modbus enabled .

Once the data is read from the energy meter , we need to publish that data over json as MQTT client to a MQTT raspberry pi as subscriber in a LAN or to a MQTT subscriber /server in remote cloud
