I need someone to help me out setup my NAS (I am looking at ZFS; nexenta, freebsd but im open to sugestions).
You need to help me make a decision on the OS and fine tune the system.
Supermicro X7SPA-H Server Motherboard w/ Atom D510, 4GB RAM & 4 x 2TB HDD (1 x 320GB HDD for OS)
I can install the OS and give you access thru ssh or web interface.
we can talk more details on skype (the proffered method of communication).
Hey there,
I can assist you wish setting up a NAS. I will suggest CentOS W/SAMBA and NFS depending on the clients that are connecting to the remote storage. I have NAS setup for small companies of 5 people to corporation of 1000 all the same work just hardware differences. Curious on why you chose zfs over xfs or ext4 looks like you are going to have a 4TB mirrored or RAID 5 5-6 TB volume for storage?
thanks
Piece of cake! I've done this quite a few times. FreeBSD lends itself to being a NAS and it's what I always use. FreeBSD8.1 x64 with ZFS, NFS and Samba.
