Hello, If you are running Oracle this might be due to a DDoS attack especially if it's sporadic (happens randomly). The DDoS attack might be spiking your CPU to a high utilization. We can discuss mitigation but first detection needs to be in place. I have a certified AWS Solution Architect Associate and Developer Associate and have several years of experience with AWS. Hello, I think it happens because your index is stored in RAM, there is no I/O activity to slow down the search operation, and CPU will try to read through the RAM as fast as possible, meaning the high CPU and memory usages. Edit you solrconfig and change the default value. For example: <maxWarmingSearchers>50</maxWarmingSearchers> I can give you a hand if needed.

You are right some DDos attacks will make these kind off. we can able to fix this issue. But I'm not sure without analyzing.
