Hi, I need a wireshark expert to trace and find why my port (openVPN) is closed. Is it the isp blocking? modem blocking? firewall blocking? someting else blocking? I tried to disable everything still no connection. Maybe some skille wireshark analyst can check why it is blocked. So I can search how to fix it. It could be the ISP as well but then I know where it is failing. Teamviewer 5 is available

Dear Sir, I'm expert in OpenVPN and very skilled in Network analysis and Wireshark. Solution for this can be very easy and consist of following steps: 1. Capture network traffic before modem (if it's xDSL then it could be a problem) by inserting hub or switch with port mirroring and attaching laptop to capture files and send it to me for details analysis. By this way we will check do you receive traffic on 1194 OpenVPN port from ISP. If we proof/see the traffic is coming from ISP then your modem/router/firewall is blocking the traffic. 2. Insert hub/switch with port mirroring after firewall/router/modem and repeat steps from 1 and send me capture file for analysis. 3. Last thing if we find TCP/UDP SYN packets on all other locations is to capture traffic on OpenVPN server's interface, it could be that local firewall is blocking. By following this steps we will find the cause for sure. Thanks for considering my bid. Best regards,

I've worked with wireshark for years. I also work at one of the big 3 tech companies, but pretty sure I shouldn't say which one on here :) I work full time for them, but I do this in my spare time. Happy to help.

Hi, I have experience working with openVPN in particular with Linux distribution like IpCop, SmoothWall, Endian, and openBSD PfSense, however the function is very similiar for each. I also know to use wireshark but maybe with other simple tools can help to verify the problem like a traceroute, ping, redirect ports, and port testing with external web. It's important to know if the conections are for client vpn or if you are making a site to site tunnel. I hope can help you. Regards.
