The script is written in Perl. It takes as input two dates:
-s StartMonth. By default this is jan13
-e EndMonth. By default this is the current month.
The script connects to the IPO calendar at [login to view URL]
It then scrapes all the IP info from the start to the end month. The output is outputted to a comma separated file titled “[login to view URL]”. The fields are as follows:
Date,symbol,Name,SharesOffered,ProposedPrice,InitialPrice
The Date needs to be in the format YYYYMMDD. Otherwise, the information is exactly as displayed on yahoo. The table needs to be sorted by date (e.g. earliest to latest)
A second file is outputted entitled ipos.dump. Each line again represents one line of the csv above. However, the only data required for this file is the “symbol” and the “date”. Each line of the file looks like this:
"symbol" "STK" "SMART" "0" "0.0" "" "USD" "date 00:00:00" "1 D" "1 min" "1" "TRADES" "1" ""
However, the “symbol” is unique for each line and the “date 00:00:00” is unique for each line. Otherwise, all lines are identical. E.g. The file will look like this for the last couple of days
"symbol" "CGIX" "SMART" "0" "0.0" "" "USD" "20130813 00:00:00" "1 D" "1 min" "1" "TRADES" "1" ""
"symbol" "BCLI" "SMART" "0" "0.0" "" "USD" "20130813 00:00:00" "1 D" "1 min" "1" "TRADES" "1" ""
"symbol" "EVHC" "SMART" "0" "0.0" "" "USD" "20130813 00:00:00" "1 D" "1 min" "1" "TRADES" "1" ""
