I need 25 high quality, high res photos related to the MomConnect initiative of the Department of Health. The initiative is a nation-wide project using mobile phones to register pregnant women and send them regular health messages regarding their pregnancy, ante-natal and vaccine appointments, warning signs etc. The messages are sent until the baby is a year old.
The photos would be taken in a government health facility and in the community with a community health worker.
In the set, I need photos that
- show the government facility context
- show community health workers in the community with pregnant women
- show diversity (amongst health workers and women)
- are positive and show professional health worker interactions
- highlight the human element while still including the technology in the shot
- are quite clean (not too busy)
- where possible include fathers and mothers
- show pregnant women and women with babies up to 1 year
- show the actual phone screens with real MomConnect content
- are an even mix of portrait and landscape orientations
All the photos should include interaction with technology (probably phone, but if possible also tablet, computer etc).
The photos would be published under a creative commons licence and a few would be submitted to the K4Health Photoshare initiative for inclusion in their public resource. [login to view URL]
All subjects of the photos would need to sign a consent form.
We'll need to connect with the Department of Health (with whom we have a good working relationship) before going ahead which may result in some delays so I can't say exactly when we'd be able to go ahead, but I'd like to do it sooner rather than later!

We have a team member, a keen photographer, working close to the Mamelodi Township. She regularly visits a medical facility in Mamelodi and is reasonably familiar with the environment as well as practices at some of the local clinics.
Examples of her photography is available and can be submitted to any interested party. The quality is on par with the images in my Freelancer portfolio - if anything, definitely of a higher standard. As she is working close by , understand the area I am sure a session can be scheduled with the minimum disruption of personal programs and the activities at the health center.
Please contact us if you need more info. Many photo's will be taken and between 40 -50 submitted to the Health department to select 25. Once the photo's have been selected the transfer will take place within three working days.

People will be the main focus point while technology will support the MomConnect initiative in the shots. I will provide a phone, tablet and computer for the shots. These photos can help community health workers to teach the women about their pregnancy and their babies’ health. Photos can influence the community to have a close relationship with the community health workers that serve them.
