This bid request is for a small cosulting session (approx 1 hour) to speak or chat about OLE DB Providers. I expect profund knowledge and experience in developing such drivers, as the outcome of this session might be a job for writing an OLE DB Provider.
Conversation topics:
1. I downloaded the VC++ OLE DB provider ATL template from Microsoft (attached). We will speak about possibilities of a specific implementation into this template, which accesses the Exchange store (similar to EXOLEDB provider, supplied by Microsoft). We will have to talk about how this template requires data to be presented (limited by rows/columns, dynamic data access, readonly/readwrite, etc.).
2. The store access engine already exists. This engine currently is similar to the Outlook Object Model (OOM), but uses WebDAV. (You will not need to have any knowledge in this technology.) This engine is written in managed code (C#/VB.net), and we will have to speak about possibilities of fusing VC++ and C#/VB.net (COM and .NET dlls), if possible at all.
3. Time frame and approximate cost. If we get to the point that the project can be done in a decent amount of time, we might define a second job with precise requirements which interfaces are to be implemented and which are optional.
