Joomla Volunteer Roster

Hi Everyone, We are requiring some additional functionality for our Joomla 2.5.14 Site. This functionality is to: Display 'approved rosters' on a calendar interface, where volunteers and staff login to view and also volunteer for available day and time slots. The calendar interface should only display entries for THAT logged in user as well as available time/date slots where we still require people to volunteer their time. INPUTS / PROCESSES / OUTPUTS Volunteers / Staff Process: - The users should be pulled from the built-in Joomla 'Registered' site users. - Users login to the site using the Joomla login module already working on the site - Users follow a menu link to the Volunteer Calendar / Roster - Users are initially displayed with a 'Month' Calendar View, highlighting they days they have been assigned. With a click on this entry they can view the roster data which will include: EVENT NAME, EVENT TYPE (One off, Weekly, Fortnighly, Monthly) EVENT ADDRESS/LOCATION, ROSTERED DATE & TIME, EVENT DETAILS/INSTRUCTIONS text field, EVENT CONTACT PERSON & PHONE NUMBER - Menu Options for the user to: --> ADD AVAILABILITY (this is from availability slots asssigned by the Administrator, from an availablility list for Events) Options for this should include; Available as recurring, once off, or date range. --> REQUEST CANCELLATION where when a rostered slot is clicked and displayed, a user can REQUEST a cancellation if they are unavailable. An Administrator must approve this. --> EMAIL ROSTER AGENDA: Roster Agenda (List Style) is emailed to the users registered email address --> VIEW EVENTS: View Events list, and click through to view availability in this manner Additional functionality: - When an administrator OR User makes a request, change, approval or cancellation request, and email is generated to both the USER and Admin email address for any of these. Administrators: - Can login through site FRONT END or BACK END - Front End view to show options to CREATE EVENT (Supplying EVENT NAME, EVENT TYPE (One off, Weekly, Fortnighly, Monthly) EVENT ADDRESS/LOCATION, ROSTERED DATE & TIME, EVENT DETAILS/INSTRUCTIONS text field, EVENT CONTACT PERSON & PHONE NUMBER, And TIME SLOTS REQUIRED with a NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS / STAFF REQUIRED for each TIME SLOT --> This will generate the avialabilities for Volunteers to sign up to / request. - Clicking on an availability brings up an option to ASSIGN USER to that available slot NB: There are often multiple user slots for one time period, eg. Sometimes there are up to 5 volunteers required for a 10:30-1:00pm shift. - Front End View to show the calendar except where user view would normally show entries for just that logged in user, Administrator view shows ALL users robsters on the one calendar, as well as availabilities that are yet to be filled.- Again Front End View for Administrator should show the option to view as Agenda style list for easy printing / viewing. - Option to Email Administrators complete agenda list of Assigned time slots as well as avilabilities to be filled. - When an Administrator clicks a rostered slot, FULL EDIT is available so that fields are editable according to the EVENT table fields (Drop down list preferred as edit mode) - All changes made by Administrator are emailed to both Administrator emails and any user that changes are applicable to eg where a user has been assigned or an update made for a user. The Extension should be able to display WITHIN an Article or WITHIN a Module. This is the initial scope of the project. Finer details may be decided on shortly. Many Thanks Brendan McChesney.
