Magento - register coupon from session in cart page

I set coupons via a coupons page instead of the cart input. This successfully checks and sets the coupon and a session in the coupons page, but I'm having issues finding it in the cart page. All you need to do is to fix one or 2 lines of code to successfully register/find the coupon, everything else is working. Either you'll change the method I set the coupon in the coupons page, or change something in the cart page. ## Deliverables
