I did this task with maximum score for a Artificial Intelligence course. For this problem, each state of the mazes is considered a node of the graph. And we have a start state (or node) and end state (node). We then use dept first search to find the shortest path from start node to end node in the graph.

I coded a similar program (with Dijkstra algorithm) a few years back. I could re use that code and provide you a quick draft. My only reason to need 3 days is that I don't know how you describe the maze...
