Hi there,Hey Lee,
I am looking for someone who is able to modify firmware of an open source robotic style camera accessory.
I have a camera/dolly controller that runs off open source firmware - its called the MX2 controller by Dynamic Perception. [login to view URL]
The info on the source code can be viewed here: [login to view URL]
So this is what I currently have:
Acuter Merlin Pan/Tilt head + Stage Zero dolly (also Dynamic Perception product). Basically - the setup allow me to do dolly moves + pan/tilt during a time lapse. The GB Timelapse gives me additional control over the camera.
Both the merlin head and stage zero dolly are driven by the MX2 controller mentioned above. The camera (5D Mkii) is triggered by a piece of software called GB Timelapse 3.0 (Pro version). GB timelapse tells the camera shutter to trigger. When the camera triggers, it sends a signal out through the flash sync port (used to make a camera flash go off) , through a sync cable and into the MX2 controller. When the MX2 controller receives the signal it advances the Stage Zero Dolly / Merlin Head one step along its programmed timelapse move. Confusing? There is a video here that shows the setup. I want to be able to do HDR photography (multiple photos combined into one photo) with these dolly moves. The problem is as follows:
Lets say each HDR photo is to be made up of three exposures, the system would need to do the following:
It would need to take all three exposures and then once complete, move the dolly along to the next step in the movement program. The way the system works though, is after each shutter action, the signal is sent to the MX2 which triggers the next dolly move.I think what I need is a new menu item called 'HDR Brackets' or something similar.
If you enter into the menu, there could be a choice from 1 - 99.
If the option was set to '1', the MX2 would make the next dolly/merlin move after each shutter action from the camera.
Ie.
1 - MOVE - 2 - MOVE - 3 - MOVE etc…
If it was set 3, it would move after the third shutter action.
Ie.
1, 2, 3 - MOVE - 4,5,6 - MOVE and so on and so forth.
I need some the above functionality to be added to the firmware. Please feel free to ask questions!

Hi,
I haven't worked on Arduino platform before, but i have worked on embedded systems for 8 years using C. I went through your description of the project and have some queries which i haven mentioned in my private message to you. Please kindly reply..
