ok.. here's the deal:
In reality, I just need some detailed instruction!
Here is the scenario:
I currently have 2 seperate hosting reseller accounts. (2 different companies/servers/datacenters).
I also have custom nameservers setup and registered for each:
The scenario I need is this:
ns1/ns2 nameservers to serve as Active/Main nameservers to continue pointing to server 1.
In case of outage/downtime/no ping/etc..., Then and ONLY then the ns5/ns6 nameservers are used and traffic is redirected to server 2.
Obviously, you cant just list all 4 nameservers for a domain, as it will simply pick any 1 of the 4 based upon fastest ping/fewest hops, etc. I only want things to roll to server 2 if server 1 goes down.
I also need to take into consideration email issues when doing this.
It seems the easiest way to accomplish what I want is to use dynamic dns service.
If so... that's fine... but I dont understand any of this....
So what I need is for someone to tell me best and most cost effective method to do this... and then explain in detail how to do it.
Don't just tell me to 'go to dns made easy' and sign up.
I need to know where to go, what to do, what to put in where...etc.
If you have the patience and knowledge and can help me get what I need accomplished.... let's talk!
Thanks
