As a professional High School English teacher (since 1987), I have a Masters Degree in English Literature and a thorough understanding of the English language.
From time to time, I edit, proofread and translate fiction/non-fiction books for an American Publishing House. My last project was a complete translation and editorial of a biography of Charles Bossart, the designer of the Atlas Rocket, which I tremendously enjoyed. As an avid reader, I abhor finding grammatical errors in published works. My strategy is as follows: 1. Look for grammatical and typographical inaccuracies. 2. Edit the sentence structure without changing the flow of the story. 3. Research technical/specialized terminology 4. Contact the writer whenever particular problems arise.
Finally:
142.000 words converted into a Word file equals 260 pages. I'd like to take at least 15 to 20 days for it.
