Modify SharePoint Discussion Board Webpart to display column information

I have a Discussion Board WebPart. I have added a lookup column to this Discussion Board. The lookup is to the ID column of a document library - this creates a link in the Discussion Board to a document. I would like this link (column value) to be visible in the flat view of the discussion board - so users can open the document from the discussion board.

You will need to edit the [login to view URL] page in SharePoint designer and add/modify the relevant XSLT. The link at the bottom of the page demonstrates and example of how to modify the [login to view URL] page for a different outcome - this is just an example to help the developers approach not any instructions. The developer should rely on their own skills in completing this project.

You will need to DOCUMENT EVERYTHING STEP BY STEP. I will provide you with administrative access to an O365 site collection with a Discussion Board modified to include a lookup column to a Shared Documents library.

Once you have completed the project I will take the step-by-step instructions you provide and recreate the solution in my production environment. Therefore I require COMPLETE DOCUMENTATION of the solution.
