The job is to develop a plug-in for Internet explorer, Firefox and Chrome that suggests and enforces privacy settings for Facebook users. When the plug-in is executed it reads a predefined set of “Facebook required settings” stored on the user’s machine as part of the plug-in data. The plug-in waits during the browsing for a Facebook page and when such a page is navigated it checks if the user is logged in. If the user is logged in to Facebook the plug-in opens a hidden browser session, reads the relevant settings in user Facebook settings and compares to the “Facebook required settings”. If the settings have differences it opens a popup with the list of existing settings and the Facebook required settings so that the user will be able to compare and make changes in the required settings and to enable enforcement of the settings which differ. Once the settings are approved the plug-in opens hidden sessions and changes the user settings to the required settings. The popup includes also an option to change the settings automatically without asking the user in the future. After the settings were checked the plug-in will wait for predetermined time until it checks the settings again. More than one user may log in to Facebook on any browser but at any specific time only one user can be logged in to one browser There are about 50 parameters in the settings, they are grouped to about 10 different sets and within a set the change of parameters is similar. There are several default Facebook required settings. First time the application starts the user should choose the one that fits him best. He may change it to different default settings. The developer should implement setting popup. This popup will be executed by the user. The results of the settings will be stored per Facebook user on the machine or for all users. If the settings were destroyed by the user default settings should be implemented automatically. Example for a Facebook setting parameter and the change process is as follows: Settings parameter: Friends can check me in to places To get the setting the plug-in should open the page [login to view URL] Choose “How tags work” Choose Edit near “Friends Can Check You Into Places” If read is required return the value of the button in the popup. If change is required set it to “Enabled” or “Disabled” IE plug-in is toolbar. It should support IE6,7,8,9 Firefox plug-in is an XPI. Firefox 7 support is required Chrome plug-in is a CRX file. Chrome 14 support is required Windows XP, Vista and 7 X64 and X86 support is required Important notes: 1. The settings required cannot be implemented with Facebook API. It requires a crawler development 2. You can bid for all 3 browsers or for only one browser
