Peel away banner recoding

I want to use an affiliate peel away banner already provided by another website. The problem is that the banner opens up the destination URL as a popup window when clicking on it which is blocked by most browsers. I want to be able to use the same peel away banner but that links directly to the destination URL without launcing as a popup.
