We are looking for a Java Applet that can play video using the flash codec. It will be streaming the videos from popular external video sharing sites.
We need to be able to pass as parameters in the applet tag the URL of an external page that will sent back a session cookie as well as the video name and it's external .flv URL.
None of the flvs can be accessed without first authenticating via POST or GET with the external site. The applet must have an HTTP client that will submit easy to change parameters via POST or GET, receive a session cookie and then play the .flv. Some video sharing sites might block hot linking so HTTP-GET REFERER or REFERER URL must be passed as parameter in the applet tag and then send as a header by the HTTP client. All of this must happen inside the java applet.
The player must look like this one: http://tinyurl.com/2zz7o2 but it must be a Java Applet not Flash. It must have the same controls: pause, play, current time, video length, time slider, volume, make smaller and make fullscreen buttons with exit option just like in the example. We can pass the video length as parameter in the applet tag if that is necessary.
It need to be lightweight, load fast and smoothly without showing dialogs or asking the end user to accept or confirm anything. Video must be sharp just like if the user was viewing it on its original site.
Please let us know if you have any questions and if any of the features can't be developed.
