In our rails application we enable users to submit multiple types of feedback in a project. Whenever a user submits an issue, we would like the user to have the ability to tag that issue. When the user views issues, we want them to be able to filter by those tags.
Your tasks are as follows:
- Create new model for tags or make use of our existing model for tags.
- Allow users to choose one or multiple tags. Allow easy creation of tags from within the field that they’re typing in.
- In the issues index page create a new filter that allows the user to choose a tag to filter the list of issues.
Please include what your approach would be to implementing this addition.
You must be familiar with ruby and rails development. Must be familiar with either cucumber and/or rspec testing frameworks as we require tests to be created to prove that the features work.
This is a small project that will help us get this needed functionality into our web application. This project is also a way for us to build a relationship for future work with the accepted candidate. This will get you familiar with our web application and open up the way for future ongoing work with us.

Tag creation: In the new project form, we create the ability for managers to add new tags to the project. Text would be: "What are major potential problem areas for your users?" with a field that tokenizes the input.
In the partials that exist for new issue creation. We add a section on top of the text area as such:
‘I have a problem with’ followed by a dropdown that has the tags. User can select multiple tags. At the bottom of the dropdown there’s ‘other’ and ‘create new’. User is prompted to create a new tag when clicking on the ‘create new’.
