115506 Desktop application

************************************* Some background Information ************************************* Hi talented programmers, I have a PHP script that I use to power a high number of websites. All of them have the same layout and structure, but different content. The PHP script works in tandem with one single MySQL database, which stores all the information for these sites. Sites are forums with some additional features. You can see a live example here: [login to view URL] Each one of these sites has its own web-based administrative area, where I can edit and delete messages, ban users, add links, etcetera. ************************************* What is the problem? ************************************* Having multiple web sites, each one of them with its own administrative area, is unpractical and tedious. Managing them is becoming a nightmare, and it will only get worse as more sites are added. I need a fix for this issue. ************************************* What do I need? ************************************* I need a custom-made desktop application (I’m not interested in a web-based solution, sorry) that allows me to manage all the sites from a centralized place in a quick and efficient way. Basically, that means interacting with the database that stores the information about the sites. ************************************* What's important to me? ************************************* Clever interface: The application has to have a well designed interface that makes managing all those sites a pleasure. I want it to implement a modern interface and base it on a very advanced grid component, like: [login to view URL] This grid will make very easy to implement “grouping views” which I consider vital for the project to be a success. Bug free: I don’t want to be fighting bugs and annoyances, so the application must be tested and as bug-free as possible. ******************************************** What features do I want to see implemented? ******************************************** As I said, the sites that we will be dealing with are forums with a twist, so posts and users are the pivotal elements around which the application will be build. I need: Multiple administrators Each one of them will have access to some sites and will not to others. I need to be able to add new administrators, give them permissions to handle new sites or remove them easily. Grouping views To sort posts by any criteria: user who posted them, date, etcetera. This will be automatically done by the advanced grid component, so it is not really a big deal. Mark posts as “Reviewed” so that I know which ones I haven’t read yet and which one I have Delete multiple posts by highlighting them and hitting delete. Ban users or an IP address on a site or in multiple sites Be able to add new messages, edit messages Add links to the links area ******************************************** Will you be aroung to implemment new features? ******************************************** As I regularly add new features to the web sites, I need somebody who I can count on to implement them in the future. Therefore, don’t bid on this project if you will not be able to implement new features in the future. ******************************************** Final notes ******************************************** This is not a complex project. The advanced grid in which it will be based does all the heavy-lifting, so you can focus on implmenting the database calls that are needed to make the application work. I will chose the winner based on: 1) Quality 2) Price 3) Completion time and 4) Ability to show me past jobs Good luck
