Launch downloaded excel document in Excel

In our Intranet we want Excel to launch when a user clicks on an XLS link, rather than have it load up in the browser window. Microsoft achieve exactly what we want at: [login to view URL] (Click on one of the templates and then click on "Edit in Excel" and it does so cleanly with no prompts etc.) We have scanned Google Groups quite throroughly for a solution, and this seem to be the only one that is suitable for us. Solutions we rejected are: Asking users to modify their IE settings Using client side VB Script / Automation (User security prohibts Active-X controls). It is possible that Microsoft are using a proprietry component that is not available to 3rd parties, so please ensure that you know how to do it before bidding. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working scripts. 2) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform IIS
