SQL Server T-SQL Stored procedures.

This job will involve 2 aspects: 1) There is customer_master table. There are billing_master, Orders, Order_Detail and charge_infotables. Typical E-Commerce setting. There are also other tables like Email_batch_main and message_template and mail_output, etc. In a nutshell, each customer in the system will receive 20 emails, with intervals of certain number of days between them What I am looking for is a set of stored procedures (called via one main procedure) which will create all mail jobs for all Due Customers (mail date due= getdate(), etc...) and send all emails out (we are doing that by generating one text file with a preformatted header and text by means of merging mail text with text_templates and substituting Merge Fields with data from a current row, etc. -details later) Files are output to a directory on the server, and then file is picked up by external app to be mailed out on schedule...)2) Looking for the means to do the following on the SQL Server side only (if makes sense. Maybe all in one external DLL executed from another EXE is still better): Customer registers, his record is in customer_master, in billing master, and in order_master. at this point we go out to an external provider for Credit Card billing and then upon charge approval continue to fill charges and other info related to order delail, and further order breaking down processing. Transactional atomicity is violated that way,and i am looking for the most efficient way to either do the entire thing on SQL side, or maybe move the entire code to a VB-implemented DLL which will process the whole thing efficiently. Preference is given to SQL side only most [login to view URL] is also an option to re-write the ASP page and existing DLL methods (which only partially fulfills a transaction)and do the entire processing component-based server DLL, just calling it from ASP with one ActX object instance call passing something like 20 paramaters there. This is an "open-discussion" part of the work at this point. It may happen that this #2 will not need to be implemented right away (no coding), and all your participation will go no further than a discussion and providing your opinion on this.
